THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS

The representation the movie THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS presents a rare family that discover the true meaning of Life at the end of their story. Each of the characters has different roles which they portray and different lessons that they've learned at the end. They have a thing in common which some of them are afraid to have it and some of them are having it already, yet they are still looking and aiming for more. Everyone of us has different experiences when it comes to love. Some may be happily inlove, and some may be inloved before yet has also been broken that's why they're afraid to love again.

The women in the film were acquiescent, they'll just accept what people thinks and talks about them. They were careless in some point. Margot Tenenbaum is a happy-go-lucky type of person. She is the person who always seeks love and accompany that's why she have been into a lot of relationships. While Etheline Tenenbaum was a women who sacrifices her own happiness for the sake of her family and for the persons that she love.
On the other hand, the men in the story were very persistent in the way they achieve something, I mean, they're doing their best just to achieve on what they wanted to do and pursue it. Just like the women, some of them as well were ready to sacrifice their own happiness for the sake of others.

MARGOT TENENBAUM

She is an adpated daughter of the Tenebaums; always seeks for love and accompany; is secretly inlove with his step brother Richie; has been discontented with the love she's having; has slept with a lot of boy and is easily attracted with the opposite sex.

RICHIE TENENBAUM

Richie is a tennis prodigy. He is secretly inlove with Margot as well. He had undergone a nervous breakdown in front of her fans due to the marriage of Margot and Raleigh.

CHAS TENENBAUM
He was very keen in the safety in his son as you can see in the picture because of the obsession that he has when his wife died.  He hates his father for the reason his father abandoned him when he was still little, and for getting his deposit box when he was still a child. At the end of the film, he then forgave his father.

ELI CASH

He was the person who always awanted to be a part of the Tenenbaum Family; Has been the bestfriend of Richie. Eli had been a successful author and has published a lot of novels. He has an affair with Margot.

ROYAL TENENBAUM

The stubborn-numb skull type of father, but he loves his family so much that there's a scene in the movie that he pretended and made an illness for his family to be with him.

ETHELINE TENENBAUM

She has been the mother who always prioritized education first and then the rest follows. Etheline is the kind of mother who is willing to sacrifice her own happiness for the sake of her children. She fell inlove with her accountant.

The film Babel was presented in a four interrelated situations which was shoot in JAPAN, MOROCCO, MEXICO, and USA. The scenes in one country was chained to the story of the other country, but it has only one root story. Audience would feel brainstormed while watching the movie because it is unpredictable and every happenings in the story makes the audience's heart to skip a beat due to the interrelated situations that the story presented. The type of movie that you don't want to skip a glimpse off.

Time is very essential in the film because it helps in the way the chained situation is presented. The film happened in the span of 5 days, and it was artistically woven to suspend the time element. One must able to watch the previous scene so that he would be able to understand the next scene. And by this, we can see the essence of time and how it was used in the film.

On the other hand, we know that the film was presented in different point of views, and that they differ in many things like languages, religions, and cultures. By this, their differences could be considered as the cause of the problem. The cause was being presented in a story with a twist. The audience must dig deeper in order for him to understand the root of the cause and how did it happen. While, the effect was also presented this way. In short, in every problem that the film undergone there's the effect coming its way right then. The cause and effect relationship of the film made it more interesting to watch to.

SCHINDLER'S LIST

I'm not really a fan of Steven Spielberg's Obra Maestro, yet this one caught my eyes and changed my genre in selecting films to be watched. As I first took a glimpse of the movie I felt very bored and sleepy, but as the scenes passed by it became more interesting to watch. Though I'm not a fan as well of Hollywood celebrities, yet seeing the serious and delicate appearance of Liam Neeson made me think that this film would be interesting to look at.

Liam Neeson portrayed the role of Oskar Schindler. He was a German industrialist who is a member of the Nazi Party (National Socialist's German Workers Party) during the Holocaust time. He was very influential to the people, but he did not abused his power to kill the Jewish people; rather he helped them and used his influential power to slave them, cared for them and save them from the hands of the racist. This person served as a good example to humankind. Don't you think people?

This part here may broke your heart too, the way it did to mine. Schindler's friends treated his workers brutally. The workers were being treated cruelly. They were even burned and killed like a useless thing. Their hard works didn't catch the attention of  the so-called friends of Schindler it seems that the people were just an invisible dust that's why they can do whatever ruthless acts they want. I can really see how racism worked that time though. On the other hand, the brutality of the friends of Schindler and the merciless experience of the Jews touched the heart of Schindler which then he decided to create a list of the names of the Jews. With the help of his accountant Itzhak Stern he come up with the list and pretended that he was going to buy for the Jews who's name were found on the list, but in fact his true reason was to save the Jews from the ruthless hands of his friends. With the use of his money the Jews were being saved and was freed by Schindler. Schindler and his list did a great part of the history.

It was a plot oriented story which amazed me a lot. Our teacher was not mistaken when she chose this film. And I didn't waste my time watching the film as well because the characters portrayed their roles very well that it came up very pleasing to look at, though its black and white. Its transitions, effects, and flow might as well be rated by 10, its very catchy and smooth to the eyes.  I would recommend you guys to watch the movie if you have leisure time. This movie will not just excite you, but it would make your heart skip a beat due to the floe of the story and the unpredictable character of Schindler. Surely, it will change your m=movie genre guys. Great Job, Steven Spielberg. (y)
